John Carlson is a highly committed HR, organizational and leadership development advocate who has assisted Fortune 250, government, and non-profit entities across the country for more than 25 years. John currently serves as the Senior Corporate Relations Manager for Eastern Michigan University’s College of Health and Human Services, where he is applying his senior HR experience to coach and deliver a curriculum of job readiness programming to EMU students and alumni while building employer partnerships for job and internship opportunities.
John is a certified professional coach, HR leader and DDI, (Development Dimensions International) facilitator and his passion for individual and organizational success has taken him around the country to work with HR leaders to build effective leadership and organizational development models within healthcare, manufacturing, education, and government organizations. John’s commitment to individual and organizational success has earned him the Arbor Award for Outstanding Achievement in Human Resource Development.
John holds a Masters in Organization and Human Resources Management and was awarded the ADP Faculty of the Year in Business in 2009. He is the past president of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), a certified Professional in Human Resource (PHR) from the Society of Human Resource Management.
John lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan with his wife, Catherine, 6-year-old daughter, Annalise and dog, Gracie.
