The New Face of Main Street: Seventh annual Digital Marketing Workshop at Eastern Michigan University on Nov. 17 to offer insights and tips on succeeding in digital world

YPSILANTI – A workshop at Eastern Michigan University will provide insight from more than 20 industry leaders on how digital marketing has transformed the local economy and how you can implement digital tactics to grow your business.

The seventh annual Digital Marketing Workshop, with the theme “The New Face of Main Street,” will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov 17 at the EMU Student Center, located at 900 Oakwood Street. EMU’s Center for Digital Engagement serves as the host for the annual series.

Google's Angelina Miller, an Eastern alumna, speaks at a previous workshop.

"The Digital Marketing Workshop is a great opportunity for the community to connect on all things digital, and provides an impactful experience to those who are looking to learn, engage, and bring innovation back to their business," said Angelina Miller, an Eastern alumna and Agency Development Manager at Google who spoke at a past workshop.

The EMU Center for Digital Engagement, founded in 2015, is a leading program for digital learning, and strives to highlight the ever-changing nature of digital marketing in collaboration with area business and community partners.

“I highly recommend this workshop for anyone aiming to build upon their digital marketing or social media education,” said Kim Brown, Senior Marketing Manager at Duo Security, who will serve as a moderator at a breakout session entitled “Sales on Steroids.”

Brown credits workshop host and developer Bud Gibson, a professor of marketing and director of the Center for Digital Engagement, with leading the way in southeastern Michigan in terms of digital marketing and social media training and education.

“You'll gain access to local speakers working in digital marketing, and learn from well-developed presentations and panels,” Brown said of the workshop. “It's also a great networking opportunity for students, job seekers and practitioners.”

The workshop will feature a keynote session with Jenn Hayman, Director of Marketing for Zingerman's Service Network, two breakout sessions, a networking opportunity, a lunch panel and more than 20 industry leaders from organizations such as Zingerman’s Service Network, Little Caesars, MooseJaw, Duo Security, and Google.
