Eastern Michigan University students to display various technologies at North American International Auto Show Jan. 14-17

DETROIT – Eastern Michigan University students will once again showcase the latest technologies and programs from the College of Technology at the North American International Auto Show, which starts Monday, Jan. 14. The COT display will be in the AutoMobili-D exhibit, which is open to the public during the traditional media and industry preview days from Jan. 14-17. Here are the scheduled dates and times:

  • Jan 14, 15 and 17 from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Jan. 16 from noon - 9 p.m.

Among the featured highlights at the booth will be demonstrations in cybersecurity and drone technologies. Doctoral candidate Kyla Berry will exhibit various drone technologies, which may be flown by attendees. In addition, she will showcase interactive neuro technologies including:

  • Human-to-human interfaces allowing attendees to control each other’s limbs with their brainwaves.
  • Video games that can be operated using brainwaves, and other such innovations.

These technologies were selected because unmanned and neuro-assisted mobility will play a significant role in the future of the automotive/mobility industries. These are just a few of cutting-edge technology programs at EMU, in fact, the College of Technology recently unveiled an immersive virtual reality environment.

A full schedule for the AutoMobili-D exhibit can be found on the NAIAS website, and more information on EMU's College of Technology can be found at on the college's website.
