EMU Homecoming 2020 Remix

YPSILANTI — Eastern Michigan University’s 2020 Homecoming experience has officially been "remixed.” Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EMU’s 2020 Homecoming celebration, “EMU Homecoming 2020: The Remix,” will take place virtually and remotely from Tuesday, September 29 through Sunday, October 4.

During the celebration, a variety of fun and interactive virtual events will be available for EMU students and alumni, faculty, staff and community members to celebrate the start of the Fall 2020 semester “together,” while remaining physically distant.

“Even though we are physically distant this year, that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate coming home together,” said Mia Milton, Chair of the Homecoming Steering Committee and Interim Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Engagement. “Each year, our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and even local community members, look forward to the festivities that the start of the fall semester brings. We are thrilled to host an exciting lineup of virtual events to celebrate the school year with our EMU community that we are sure will bring out the homecoming spirit in everyone!”

Highlights of EMU Homecoming 2020: The Remix include, an evening of bedtime stories featuring a selection of children's books by EMU alumni authors, an EMU student talent show on Instagram live, parties with DJ Lixxer, DJ Zu, DJ LBoog, and DJ Invisible (the tour DJ for XHIBIT), a virtual cooking demonstration with Chef Elle Simone—EMU alum and America’s Test Kitchen chef, a virtual game night, and so much more.

The details for how to participate in these events, as well as the full schedule of events for Homecoming 2020: The Remix can be found on the EMU Homecoming webpage.
