YPSILANTI – To help protect the health of Eastern Michigan University’s campus community and surrounding communities, the University will host a COVID-19 and flu clinic on Tuesday, Oct. 18 from 2 to 6 p.m. in room 310 A/B at the Student Center, located at 900 Oakwood St. in Ypsilanti. Additional clinics will be offered in November and early December.

The COVID-19 vaccines, including the booster, are free. Flu shots are free for students enrolled in the insurance plan through United Health Care Student Resources, students with insurance plans that cover flu shots, or uninsured/underinsured. The flu shot is free for employees who have an EMU or other insurance plan that covers flu shots. Students and employees must bring their insurance card. The cost is $30 for anyone not covered by the specified options, and credit cards are required for payment.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), recommends everyone stay up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters for their age group. The CDC also suggests that October is a good time to get the flu vaccination.

EMU students must report to the University’s Telehealth Clinic if they test positive for COVID-19 or have close contact with someone who has COVID-19. Students must comply with instructions from EMU Telehealth about isolation, quarantine, mask-wearing, etc.
