YPSILANTI — Eastern Michigan University has added a key new element to its free tuition program – a $2,000 housing grant. The Eagle Guarantee, available to new enrolling students for fall 2025, covers tuition and gives students an extra $2,000 to help with on-campus housing. This makes college even more affordable for Pell Grant and Michigan Achievement Scholarship students.
“Eastern was among the first universities in Michigan to offer a free tuition program and it’s been a popular choice for qualifying students for more than a decade,” said Katie Condon, vice president for enrollment management. “We’re thrilled to expand the program for new students in fall 2025 to include a $2,000 housing grant.
“EMU’s campus housing is among the newest and best in the state thanks to our $200 million Welcome Home project and the opening of two brand new apartment buildings and the renovation of all other residence halls. Every unit on our campus features air conditioning and enhanced Wi-Fi. The new apartments include dishwashers and all new appliances and furnishings, along with plenty of student gathering and study spaces.”
