YPSILANTI — Eastern Michigan University, known for its globally diverse campus, fosters international connections with universities worldwide. In a new initiative to create a global classroom experience, EMU hosted a virtual “Cybersecurity in Aerospace Engineering” workshop on August 28, connecting with students from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.
“We really wanted to initiate an international dialogue about cybersecurity,” said Mohamad Qatu, dean of the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology. “With the field rapidly expanding around the world, a conversation with global context in mind is essential for students.”
The presentation, opened by Eastern Michigan University President James Smith, welcomed students from IIT Bombay with great enthusiasm. Dean Qatu and Eastern faculty members presented on various topics, including cybersecurity research, AI safety, and E-voting, among others. This dialogue introduced students to what Eastern has to offer.
