Eastern Michigan University’s Graduate Entrepreneurship Program ranked among the top 50 in the U.S. by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine

EMU ranked No. 9 in the Midwest

A colorful lightbulb representing ideas and entrepreneurship

YPSILANTI — Eastern Michigan University’s Master of Science in Management of Innovation and Strategy program has achieved a top-50 ranking among entrepreneurship programs in the United States. It is the No. 9 best program in the Midwest, as announced by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine.

The school selections for the 2025 ranking lists are based on a survey conducted by The Princeton Review in the summer of 2024 of administrators at nearly 300 schools in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe offering entrepreneurship courses. The methodology considered more than 40 data points broadly covering school programs, faculties, students, and alumni.

Eastern Michigan’s entrepreneurship program graduates are making their mark as founders, innovation managers, and leaders in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. This success is attributed to EMU’s interdisciplinary and experiential approach, which provides students with essential tools for opportunity assessment, market analysis, and strategic entrepreneurial decision-making.

“Our interdisciplinary and applied approach to graduate entrepreneurship provides students with critical tools for evaluating opportunities, understanding market demands and making entrepreneurial decisions,” said Sanjib Chowdhury, director of EMU’s Center for Entrepreneurship Management.

Eastern Michigan’s entrepreneurship program stands out due to its practical, flexible learning formats—including online and hybrid options—that cater to diverse student needs. The program offers a unique field study course, allowing students to work directly with small business owners to solve real-world challenges. EMU students gain a competitive advantage through the Center for Entrepreneurship’s partnerships with local entrepreneurs and the Small Business Development Center, providing unmatched experiential learning.

A recent addition to EMU’s entrepreneurial offerings is an executive certificate in entrepreneurship, an eight-week hybrid program designed for busy professionals looking to refine their entrepreneurial skills.

“We encourage students with diverse educational backgrounds to take our graduate entrepreneurship courses, which, along with various co-curricular programs, further teach students how to hone their skills and leverage their creativity, among other things. New graduate students can get an MBA with an entrepreneurship concentration or a graduate certificate in entrepreneurship, and both programs can be completed using a hybrid or an online format,” said Chowdhury. The Princeton Review is known for its classroom and online test-prep courses, tutoring, full college and career readiness, and other education services. A print feature will be published in Entrepreneur magazine’s December issue on newsstands on Nov.12.
