YPSILANTI – Eastern Michigan University earned the No.11 spot on the Cybersecurity Guide's list of the most affordable online cybersecurity master's programs in 2025. The ranking highlights Eastern's commitment to delivering excellent education while remaining cost-effective.

“EMU is honored to be featured on the Cybersecurity Guide for 2025,” said Sean Che, professor and interim director of Information Security and Applied Computing. “I’m so glad that Eastern’s cybersecurity programs are represented and that the efforts we put into funding and creating an education program that aids in student success are acknowledged.”

Affordability remains a top priority for many students when pursuing advanced degrees. In response, the Cybersecurity Guide research team developed its 2025 rankings based on the academics offered in university master’s programs and the cost of tuition.

To be included on this list, universities must hold the designation of a “Center for Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity,” awarded by the U.S. National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security.  Eastern is one of 17 universities in Michigan with this special designation. Recognition is given for meeting standards in educating cybersecurity professionals.

EMU’s Cybersecurity master’s program is online and designed to equip graduate students with the skills and knowledge to protect local, regional, and national security in just one year.
