YPSILANTI – Amazon has opened a new location at the Eastern Michigan University campus for secure and convenient package pickup, in-person customer service, and free returns of Amazon orders.

The location, Amazon@Ypsilanti, is the company’s first such facility in the state of Michigan. The pickup site opened this month and has hours Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday from noon to 9 p.m

The site is located on southern end of the ground floor of the Student Center, 900 Oakwood Street, 48197. The convenient, spacious, brightly lit facility opens to the outside and also into the Student Center, adjacent to the student bookstore.

A user-friendly and modern space

The space is modern – reflecting technology and user-friendly interfaces. The spaces have been well received at other college locations around the country.

The facility offers students, staff, faculty and the greater Ypsilanti community a location to pick up and return Amazon orders, including virtually everything one needs, from everyday essentials to technology. Amazon Prime members will receive free, one-day pickup on millions of items when ordering by 10 p.m. and

“We’re excited to offer the greater Eastern Michigan University community a convenient location to pick up and return Amazon orders,” said Ripley MacDonald, director of student programs, Amazon. “We’re thrilled to be able to bring the convenience of shopping on Amazon here to Ypsilanti.”
