Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents approves tentative agreement with collective bargaining unit

YPSILANTI – The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents approved a tentative collective bargaining agreement between the university and AFSCME Local 3866, which represents food service and maintenance employees, during a board meeting on June 22.

The recommendation is based on the tentative agreement reached between Eastern and the Union and ratified by the AFSCME bargaining unit on June 20. Significant provisions of the proposed agreement include: 

Duration: Three-year agreement, effective July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2026.

Wages: Across-the-board salary increase as follows: 

  • 4.0% increase effective July 1, 2023 
  • 3.0% increase effective July 1, 2024 
  • 3.0% increase effective July 1, 2025 

In addition to the salary adjustments, changes were made to health plans and other benefits. Complete details can be found here.
