Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents approves new labor agreement between the University and the EMU chapter of the Police Officers Association of Michigan

YPSILANTI -- The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents approved a new three-year labor agreement today (August 21) between the University and the EMU chapter of the Police Officers Association of Michigan (POAM). The term of the agreement is from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2026. Wage adjustments under the agreement include: 

  • 2.75% increase effective July 1, 2023
  • 3.0% increase effective July 1, 2024
  • 3.0% increase effective July 1, 2025

In addition, the agreement calls for adjustments to the employee medical plan such that by the end of the contract period the University will be paying approximately 80% of premiums while employees will be paying 20%.  

EMU POAM membership ratified the agreement on July 26.
