YPSILANTI – As part of Eastern Michigan University’s week-long Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, the university is hosting “A Night of Dreams” concert on Jan. 18, 2024, at 7 p.m. It will be held in Pease Auditorium.

EMU seeks artists to perform pieces that capture the week-long celebration theme, “Driven by the Dream,” and MLK’s rich legacy. All performers are welcome: musicians, poets, theatrical groups, and more. Students, faculty, and staff auditions will be prioritized, but community members and others are encouraged to apply.

MLK left this life with a dream and continues to spread his message through his legacy. His legacy continues to educate students nationwide about the civil rights movement and how to always stand up for what you believe in. His spirit empowers people to do the right thing and learn from their mistakes.

Applications are due Oct. 27, 2023, and selection notifications will be delivered in November. If you have questions regarding the week-long celebration or the event, contact Nick Smith, director of bands, at jnick.smith@emich.edu
