Huntington Bank Chairman Gary Torgow named commencement speaker at Eastern Michigan University graduation ceremony on December 17

YPSILANTI – Gary Torgow will serve as commencement speaker at the Eastern Michigan University graduation ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, at the George Gervin GameAbove Center. Torgow will receive an honorary doctor of commercial science degree as approved by the EMU Board of Regents during its regular meeting today (Oct. 19, 2023).

Torgow is a highly accomplished business leader and is the chairman of Huntington Bank's Board of  Directors. With a wealth of experience in the banking and financial industry, Torgow has played a pivotal role in shaping the success and growth of Huntington Bank. His strategic vision and leadership have driven the bank's expansion and established its reputation as a trusted financial institution. 

Torgow's expertise extends beyond the banking sector. He has an extensive background in real estate, is actively involved in many philanthropic endeavors, and serves on the Board of numerous organizations, including the Detroit Regional Chamber. These activities reflect his dedication to supporting economic development, healthcare, and the arts in the communities he serves. 

Torgow holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Yeshiva University and a law degree from Wayne State University. He is a licensed attorney and member of the State Bar of Michigan.
