Dr. Kenneth R. Lord stepped into his role as dean of Eastern Michigan University’s College of Business in summer 2018. Since his arrival, the College has added to its distinctions new rankings in the areas of entrepreneurship, global business, human-resource management, sales, supply-chain management, and taxation, affiliation with the international CFA Institute, and multiple regional, national, and international awards presented to its students, alumni, and faculty. He is working with faculty and staff to create opportunity for students through international and corporate partnerships, state-of-the-art, market-relevant technology and programs, and student professional development.

As dean of the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics at California State University from 2013 to 2017, Dr. Lord oversaw the launch and successful completion of a $25 million capital campaign, successfully maintained its prestigious accreditation with AACSB International, and added to its list of national and international rankings. In earlier administrative roles he served as associate dean of the Kania School of Management at The University of Scranton and director of graduate programs at Mercer University’s Stetson School of Business and Economics. He held marketing faculty positions at Niagara University and the State University of New York at Buffalo. 

Dr. Lord holds degrees in English, communication, and marketing from the University of Utah and The Ohio State University. His research has led to more than 80 journal articles and conference presentations, over 5100 citations of his work, his ranking among the world’s top advertising scholars, and a book published in 2013 on the topic of social justice.
