About

Dr. Neilson is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at EMU, and Director of the Community Behavioral Outpatient Clinic. She has a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington. She obtained her MPH in Health Behavior and Health Education,  her MSW in Interpersonal Practice in Mental Health, and her BA in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Michigan. Her areas of research and expertise include the intersection of gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health, and substance use.
