About

Dr. Lauritzen is an Assistant Professor at EMU with previous academic appointments at Indiana State University where she served as the BSW Program Director and Title IV-E Coordinator. Dr. Lauritzen’s expertise in interpersonal skill development, interprofessional education and collaboration and incorporating simulations in social work education are evident in her teaching and scholarship work. Dr. Lauritzen is certified as a trainer for Motivational Interviewing and SBIRT-an evidence-based prevention tool for substance use. Throughout her 15 years as a social worker, Dr. Lauritzen has served a variety of populations including therapy for children and adolescents with emotional and/or behavioral needs, children/adult survivors of domestic and sexual violence and Medical Social Work with homecare and hospice patients.
