Professor of Nursing

Dr. Myler is a professor of nursing at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) and co-director of nursing and interprofessional simulation in the College of Health and Human Services. She has been a nurse for over 25 years in a variety of specialties including orthopedics, trauma, otolaryngology and pain management. Her previous academic positions include appointments at both Henry Ford College and the University of Michigan where she coordinated the second degree nursing program. She graduated from Michigan State University with her BSN, the University of Michigan with her MSN, and Oakland University with her doctorate of nursing practice.
Research interests include simulation, active learning and interprofessional education. She has received two internal awards for interprofessional projects and published in the area of simulation. She is certified as an advanced healthcare simulation educator (CHSE) and as a nurse educator (CNE). She teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate programs in her role at the college while participating in simulation scheduling, development and implementation.
Dr. Myler serves on a variety of professional and university committees. She is a member of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INASCL) and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). She also serves on the Interprofessional Steering Committee and the Nursing Simulation Task Force at EMU.
