About

In the spring of 2006, Dr. Ilozor joined the Construction Management Program in the School of Visual and Built Environments at Eastern Michigan University, where he is a tenured full professor contributing expertise in architecture, construction management, renewable energy and sustainability, as well as facilities planning, design, and management. Before Eastern Michigan University, he was a professor at the Department of Architecture, Hampton University.

He is a multiple award winning teacher, researcher and practitioner, with extensive multidisciplinary background in sustainable architecture, construction management, energy systems, and built facility design & management spanning over two decades. He is the inventor of the Bendors Power System (BPS) for generating renewable electricity, and SpaceDEC for diagnosing and rating space efficiency. He is a consultant to architectural and engineering firms such as Ebenezer Associates, a Baltimore-based design-build firm.

Apart from winning several competitive grants, Dr. Ilozor's research has since been recognized as unique for making tangible contributions towards providing a better understanding of real-world but little investigated and understood needs of the built environment.
