Peter Higgins is a professor of philosophy and department member in Women's and Gender Studies at Eastern Michigan University. He completed a Ph.D. in Philosophy and a Graduate Certificate in Women and Gender Studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2008. Dr. Higgins specializes in social and political philosophy and generally focuses on issues that are global in scope, approaching them from a feminist perspective. His book "Immigration Justice," was published in 2013 (Edinburgh University Press). Dr. Higgins' current research interests involve the analysis of fundamental concepts in feminist theory, such as oppression, privilege, and intersectionality.
