About
Dr. Popko holds a certificate of TEFL from the University of Montana, an MA-ESL from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and a Ph.D. in applied linguistics from Northern Arizona University. He has taught English as a foreign language and trained English teachers in Japan, Spain, Indonesia, The Czech Republic, and most recently, China. He spent the 2015/2016 school year training teachers, teaching English to K-6 students, and writing a K-2 English language curriculum for a private school in western China. He teaches all levels of ESL and TESOL at EMU, including testing and assessment, methods and linguistics courses.
