Dr. Peggy Liggit is Director of the Bruce K. Nelson Faculty Development Center. She earned her PhD in cellular and molecular biology (Univ. of Nevada-Reno, 1994) and her undergraduate degree in biology, with certifications in secondary biology and chemistry education (Northern Arizona Univ., 1982.)  Peggy began her career at EMU in 1998. She served eleven years as a professor in the Department of Biology, teaching and conducting research in science education, three years as Director of Academic Assessment, and is in her ninth year in the Faculty Development Center. Her research focus now includes learner-centered teaching in higher education, organizational learning, humanized assessment practices, and faculty peer-coaching using the Cognitive Coaching and Adaptive Organizations methods.
