EMU Today

I am a native of Detroit, Michigan and am a two-time graduate of Eastern Michigan University.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Special Education and my Masters Degree in Guidance & Counseling through EMU, and am currently serving on their Alumni Association Board of Directors.  I believe in life-long learning, creating opportunities, and reaching "higher, broader & deeper" to achieve the best results!

I have been active in groups and organizations throughout most of my life, and currently work in corporate relations for the Career Services area of EMU, primarily with the College of Technology and STEM majors. This allows me to blend my commitment to EMU with my love of business-education partnerships - something I truly enjoy.  I have worked as a school counselor, community liaison, event coordinator, and in employment / staffing; so my current role at EMU is a wonderful blend of many of these areas.  I am also very active in various chambers of commerce, and am currently serving of the Board of Directors for two local chambers. 

I enjoy collaborative activities, strategic planning, connecting individuals and businesses, event planning, and working with students.  I especially enjoy working with individuals and groups to help them achieve their goals, cultivating business-education partnerships, and developing creative ideas for successful activities. Business networking is my specialty!

I often volunteer at fundraisers, including the annual radiothon for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  I am also currently serving on the EMU Swoops Food Pantry Advisory Board. 

As most people who know me are well aware, I'm also an enthusiastic Detroit Tigers fan!

In addition to my role at EMU and in the community, I have a small custom gift basket business out of my home.  This enables me to blend my creativity with my entrepreneurial spirit.  I also enjoy traveling - especially to Italy!
