EMU campus community invited to participate in the 20th Annual Denim Day on Wednesday, April 24, a statement against sexual assault

Eastern students, faculty and staff to join worldwide movement to support survivors

A message from the EMU Police Department to students, faculty and staff:

We hope you will join us for the 20th Annual Denim Day!

On April 24, 2019, millions of people across the world will wear jeans with a purpose, which is to support survivors and educate themselves and others about all forms of sexual violence. On this day, many will wear jeans as a social statement against the misconceptions that surround sexual assault.

The EMU Police Department will have a table on the ground floor of the Student Center between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. You can stop by and receive a free Denim Day pin to wear with your jeans. You can also show your support by signing the Denim Day jeans.

For more information about Denim Day, you can go to the Denim Day website, or contract Community Relations Officer Cathy Wilman at 734.487.0987 or cgeyer@emich.edu.
