YPSILANTI – The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents Thursday congratulated one of the University’s foremost academic partners – Henry Ford College – as it celebrates its 80th anniversary of helping prepare students for an ever-changing workplace.
The resolution commended Henry Ford College for its leadership, dedication and commitment to southeastern Michigan and its citizens.
The college and Eastern enjoy a deep collaboration, which includes 21 articulation agreements, including a recently established pathway for students who have earned an associate nursing degree at Henry Ford to transfer their credits to Eastern.
The resolution, adopted at the Board’s regular meeting Thursday, June 13, notes that since its founding as Fordson Junior College in 1938, Henry Ford College has grown into an institution that “reflects the value of student-centered, community-focused education as it prepares graduates for the lives they aspire to lead.”
The resolution cited the “outstanding” leadership of Henry Ford College President Russell Kavalhuna, who was there to accept the honor.
Eastern Michigan currently has more than 140 articulation agreements with 24 schools, more than any other university in the state. The University has agreements with schools in Michigan, Ohio, Iowa and Missouri.
