Alexander Landen named director of admissions at Eastern Michigan University

Alexander Landen

YPSILANTIAlexander Landen has been named director of admissions at Eastern Michigan University, effective immediately. In the position, he oversees recruitment and admission processes for all first-year students, transfer students as well as international enrollment.

“Alexander was selected as director of admissions after an extensive national search,” said Kevin Kucera, vice president for enrollment management. “He brings outstanding organizational and analytical skills to our enrollment management team.” 

Landen’s goal is to implement strong recruitment strategies and develop  engaging  events for prospective students that communicate the benefits, and the excellence, of an Eastern Michigan University degree. . 

“I'm very excited to continue serving an institution that means so much to me personally,” said Landen. “As a two-time alumnus, I've seen firsthand the powerful impact that EMU can have on students and their lives, and I can't think of a better place for me and so many of my friends and colleagues to call home.”

Landen has served various roles at Eastern. He has six years of experience in EMU’s Office of Admissions overseeing recruitment processes for incoming first-year students and collaborating with the vice president of enrollment management to create strategic recruiting efforts.

Before his current position, he served as assistant director of admissions visit programs, senior admissions adviser, admissions adviser, and admissions communication.

Landen earned a bachelor’s in communication and a master’s in educational leadership, both from Eastern Michigan University.
