EMU Today

The Division of Communications is excited to announce a new feature on EMU Today: Inside EMU. Launching on Oct. 4, 2024, this self-service tool allows you to share your stories, events, and updates directly with the Eastern Michigan University community. Whether you have an exciting campus event, a noteworthy achievement, or helpful information to share, this is your chance to have your story featured on EMU Today.

Here’s how it works: Submit your stories—up to 500 words—and any proposed accompanying images. Once approved, your story will be published with its unique URL. This makes it easy to share across your networks and boosts engagement across campus.

What type of content works best for Inside EMU?

• News about employee promotions or accolades (conference presentations, elections to professional boards)
• Announcement of policy changes
• Tips on how to use EMU services
• Employee wellness
• Committee/Task Force/Special Project updates
• Announcement of internal events
• Internal event recaps
• Internal surveys or feedback requests
• Announcements of minor space reconfigurations or office relocation
• Student accomplishments unrelated to their field of study

What to Include in Your Submission:

• A headline and key details such as the date, time, and place of your event or story
• A brief description (500 words or less)
• Any important deadlines, RSVP dates, or links
• Contact information for follow-up questions
• Enter all links as text (and the EMU Today team will convert them to hyperlinks)

Make sure your submission is connected to an official EMU unit and follows our guidelines (no job openings, solicitations, or fundraising). Submissions received by Friday at noon will also be considered for The Week at EMU email.
