The fall semester brings the hustle and bustle back to EMU’s campus. Here are a few places to escape the busyness of campus and enjoy the fall season.
University Park
The koi pond outside the Student Center is a popular year-round student destination. The fountains cover the noises of a busy campus, making the location quiet and serene. The bridge over the pond features a great location for a picnic. With tables and benches, you can read a book, work on homework, feed the fish, or eat lunch.
Halle Library
The newly renovated Halle Library features a quiet environment with large windows overlooking fall-time campus. With desks, booths, and couches there is always a comfortable spot to get work done. Students and staff can also book an individual study room for free using their EID on the Halle Library website.
The Greenhouse
The EMU Greenhouse is situated between the Mark Jefferson Science Complex and Briggs Hall. At the very end of the greenhouse is a table and chairs perfect for relaxation, getting a little work done, or contributing to the community notebook filled with art and notes.
South Campus Green Space
EMU’s south campus has abundant trees surrounding the sidewalks and filling the green space. During the fall these trees turn vibrant orange, red, and yellow colors. Benches outside the Mark Jefferson Science Complex, Starkweather, and Sherzer are perfect places to relax and take in the fall’s beauty.
Art Galleries
EMU’s School of Art & Design hosts three galleries to enjoy. There are two galleries in The Student Center: the University Gallery and the IGG (Intermedia Gallery Group) Gallery, both on the second floor. The third gallery, The Ford Gallery, is located in Ford Hall.
