2025 Admitted Student Postcard Campaign Initiative Seeking Volunteers

The Admissions Office invites you to write congratulatory messages to share your Eastern Michigan University experiences and successes with admitted students.

"During a time when students are making their college decision, receiving a personalized postcard may help students to feel a personal connection to the EMU community," said Dr. LaJoyce Brown, Director of Admissions. "Your participation is greatly appreciated and will help recruit our incoming Eagles."

We welcome administrators, faculty, staff, current students, and alumni to participate in this very important initiative to help congratulate and welcome admitted students. Participants can handwrite personalized messages to:

  • Students within a specific major or college
  • Students located in a specific geographic area
  • Students from a particular high school
  • Students from a specific population

Volunteers should expect to dedicate, on average, 10 minutes for each postcard. The personalized postcards should be written in manuscript and not cursive. The Admissions Office will provide examples and a suggested template for the postcards. However, the best messages are your personal experiences that you would like to share with our incoming Eagles!

The Admitted Student Postcard Campaign will launch on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025. Dr. Brown said the goal is to have students receive their EMU personalized handwritten postcards February and March. The Admissions Office will provide the postcards and message templates and will mail out the postcards.

If you are interested in participating, please complete the 2025 Admitted Student Postcard Campaign form.
