Media Advisory:
Today, Monday, Jan. 21 2019, Eastern Michigan University celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with several special events that you are invited to cover:
• MLK Keynote Address: Keith Boykin. Student Center Auditorium, 2 – 3:30 p.m. Keith Boykin, New York Times best-selling author and a leading TV commentator on politics, race and sexual orientation, will give the MLK celebration keynote address.
• CloseUp Theatre Troupe Performances: Student Center Auditorium. Two Shows: 4:30 - 6 p.m. (Doors open at 4 p.m.) and 7 – 8:30 p.m. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m.) Sometimes, we examine the injustices in our society as individuals, but we don’t always speak up about them as a community. CloseUp will speak up and speak out about some of those injustices and create a space for audience members to think, feel, question and hopefully act.
Please let me know if you are interested in attending either of these events.
