Eastern Michigan University, Saint Joseph Mercy Health System and IHA celebrate opening of new community health center on EMU’s campus

 

WHO:               

Eastern Michigan University, Saint Joseph Mercy Health System and IHA will celebrate the opening of IHA Health Center @ EMU, a new community facility on EMU’s campus.

 

WHAT:             

The celebration will include a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, November 1 and a community open house on Saturday, November 2.

The November 1 ribbon cutting will include remarks from:

  • Eastern Michigan University President James Smith
  • St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor President Bill Manns
  • IHA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mark LePage
  • IHA Health Center @ EMU Site Medical Director Dr. Lisa Whipple
  • Eastern Michigan University Student Body President Ethan Smith
  • U.S. Representative Debbie Dingell
  • EMU Vice President of Communications, Walter Kraft.

The November 2 community open house will be free and open-to-the-public and will include food and drinks, family-friendly games and activities, and more.  

The health center will officially open for business on Monday, November 4 to provide vital primary health care services and urgent care to members of the community at-large as well as the EMU community.
