Soaring past graduation: Eastern Michigan University alumni to share advice for students in panel discussion at The Honors College March 7

YPSILANTI – A group of alumni of The Honors College at Eastern Michigan University will return to campus to share how their degrees helped them soar higher during their careers and lives.

The alumni will participate in a moderated discussion about the different paths they have taken to success, followed by a Q&A session with the audience. Refreshments will be provided.

The annual event will take place on Wednesday, March 7 from 6-7 p.m. in The Honors College Reception Hall.

The panel features four speakers:

  • Catie Cole (2017) earned her degree in psychology and communication. She currently works at a psychiatric hospital and will start a master's program soon.
  • John Collman (2006) graduated with a degree in Spanish. He served in Uganda at a children's center and currently works as the Director of Data Services at a local software company.
  • Monica Bisha (1998) received a degree in political science and has worked as a teacher for 20 years.
  • Dr. Christopher Gellasch (1992) earned a bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. in geology. After graduation, he entered active duty in the U.S. Army and worked for 20 years as an Environmental Science and Engineering Officer. He is now a faculty member in the EMU department of geography and geology.

The discussion —and all other events at The Honors College – are open to all EMU students. Anyone who would like to attend can RSVP here.
