University had leased lot to city of Ypsilanti, and has no current need for it

YPSILANTI – Eastern Michigan University plans to sell the Washington Street Parking Lot, located in downtown Ypsilanti, to the city for $1.

The property, listed as 137 N. Washington Street and 114 N. Adams Street, is located between those two streets, near the Ann Arbor Area Transit Authority station in downtown Ypsilanti.

The University has leased the property to the City of Ypsilanti for a nominal amount on an annual basis and currently does not have any specific needs for the property, according to recommendation approved Thursday by the Board of Regents at its regular meeting.

Upon completion of the sales agreement, the city will be allowed a 30-day period to perform investigations of the property.
