Eastern Michigan University reaches agreement with food service and maintenance workers’ union on three-year contract

YPSILANTI – Eastern Michigan University and AFSCME Local 3866, the union representing food service and maintenance workers, have reached agreement on a three-year contract.

The contract begins on July 1, 2019 and expires on June 30, 2022. The EMU Board of Regents approved the agreement at its regular meeting on June 13, 2019.

Significant provisions of the collective bargaining agreement include:

• Annual, across the board salary increases of 2 percent, effective July 1 of 2019, 2020 and 2021.

• A $500 lump sum payment on or before August 31, 2019.

• A $250 lump sum payment on or before July 31, 2020.

• University health care and dental care coverage.
