YPSILANTI – Eastern Michigan University and UAW Local 1975, the union representing clerical and secretarial workers at EMU, have reached agreement on a three-year contract.

The contract begins on July 1, 2019 and expires on June 30, 2022. The EMU Board of Regents approved the tentative agreement at its regular meeting on June 13, 2019.

Significant provisions of the collective bargaining agreement include:

• Across the board salary increases of 2 percent, effective July 1 of 2019 and again July 1, 2020.

• A 1.75 percent salary increase, effective July 1, 2021.

• A $160 lump sum payment on August 31, 2019 and on July 31, 2020.

• University health care coverage.
