YPSILANTI – Over 300 middle school students from Plymouth-Canton Community Schools’ Pioneer Middle School will travel to Eastern Michigan University’s campus to learn about EMU as a local university option for college. The visit will take place on Dec. 10, 2019.
The visit comes as part of the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools’ commitment to promoting more local college options for students planning on higher education.
The students will be welcomed to campus shortly before 10 a.m. in McKenny Hall. Their visit will start off with a short welcome and an icebreaker activity. Following that, the students will receive a tour of the campus, paired with a scavenger hunt game while they walk. They’ll enjoy a lunch at one of the restaurants on campus before meeting back in the McKenny Ballroom for a number of prize drawings to end the visit.
During the tour, students will visit the Student Center, residence halls and rooms, classroom buildings, Halle Library, and other campus areas. They will also leave with information on EMU and the programs that the university offers.
