Two Eastern Michigan University graduate human resources programs cited as among the nation’s best

YPSILANTI – Two Eastern Michigan University graduate programs in human resources have been singled out as among the nation’s best in that area by a national student-focused research guide.

The Human Resources/Organizational Development Masters of Science was listed as 37th in the nation, and the Online Graduate Certificate in HR was listed as the 10th best by Intelligent.com.

Intelligent.com describes itself as a student-focused comprehensive research guide that is based on an assessment of 1,604 accredited colleges and universities. Each program is evaluated based on curriculum quality, graduation rate, reputation, and post-graduate employment, according to the guide.

“I am pleased for EMU's Graduate HR Programs to receive this newest recognition of their quality,” said Dr. Fraya Wagner-Marsh, SHRM-SCP, GPHR, SPHR, and Coordinator of the Graduate Programs in HR at EMU. “These programs have a great reputation among employers in the Midwest and have been singled out by companies as the place to go to find knowledgeable HR Professionals who understand human resources as well as organizational development. Our students understand basic HR and OD theories as well as the application of these theories to the real world of business.”

The 2020 rankings were calculated through a scoring system that includes student engagement, potential return on investment, and third-party evaluations. Intelligent.com analyzed hundreds of schools with comparable programs on a scale of 0 to 100.

The methodology uses an algorithm that collects and analyzes multiple rankings into one score to easily compare each university’s degree program.

Intelligent.com is the latest in a growing array of ranking organizations that have recognized the quality of Eastern Michigan University's programs in human resources and organizational development. In 2018, the LEAD Awards conferred top-ten rankings on Eastern's diploma, continuing education, master's, and certificate programs. Its graduate certificate was ranked ninth in the nation by AffordableColleges.com in 2018 and as one of the top 25 by BestColleges.com in 2019.
