YPSILANTI – While COVID-19 continues to disrupt the higher education industry and workplaces alike, Eastern Michigan University’s Center for Digital Engagement is working hard to continue providing opportunities for advancement and learning by offering 48 Digital Summer Clinic paid internship positions.

Applications are welcome from all college students and recent graduates. Those interested can apply by April 30 through the Digital Summer Clinic website. The internships help college students and recent grads from Southeastern Michigan find careers in the digital realm.

The Digital Summer Clinic is funded by Ann Arbor SPARK and provided as a service by Eastern Michigan University’s Center for Digital Engagement. The internships for the clinic will run for nine weeks, beginning in mid-June and ending in mid-August. Depending on prevailing conditions at that time, the internships will take place either in-person or remotely.

Interns will work 10 hours per week and will be paid $15.18 per hour. Working in teams with companies in The Ann Arbor SPARK Incubator, interns will receive on the job experience in in all aspects of digital, the opportunity to meet mentors and industry professionals, as well as tips on strengthening public communication skills and developing a professional portfolio.

Digital Marketing spans a broad range of majors, including computer science, business, communications, media arts, and more. Clinic projects routinely span all of these majors.

Seventy-five percent of interns move on to jobs in the Southeastern Michigan high-tech economy with firms such as General Motors, iProspect, Career Now Brands, Google and more.
