YPSILANTI --  Need a quick delivery of cleaning supplies for the classroom? Eastern Michigan University faculty members will have access to a special one-button speed dial directly to the University's facilities operations to order an immediate replenishment of safety supplies for their classrooms. The new system is the work of the University's Information Technology (IT) division and is now in place in 355 classrooms. If a faculty member notices they are running low on cleaning supplies they can use the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone in their classrooms for an easy, one-stop request to the University's facilities team who will respond with the requested supplies. This is the latest effort in the University's #EMUSafe initiaive, designed to protect the health and well-being of everyone on campus this fall.
