YPSILANTI -- Eastern Michigan University Regent Rich Baird announced today that he has resigned his position on the Board of Regents effective immediately. Baird was among several individuals charged this week by the Michigan Attorney General in an investigation of the Flint water crisis. In a letter to Board Chair Eunice Jeffries, Baird said his resignation was in the best interests of the University.
Baird was appointed to the Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents in November 2018. His term was scheduled to expire in December 2026. Governor Whitmer will appoint his successor.
