Latest EMU Today TV episode focuses on virtual reality technology in the classroom and recent renovations to the Rec/IM center

YPSILANTI -- Virtual reality technology has been rising in popularity and availability over the past few years, and now it’s being implemented into classrooms. With the pandemic keeping us all in our homes more often, virtual reality has been used to transport students and teachers alike into a virtual classroom space. In the latest episode of EMU Today TV, host Mark S. Lee speaks to Michael McVey, professor of Teacher Education, about this cutting-edge technology that’s modernizing the classroom experience.

In the second segment of the episode, Aquatics Facility Coordinator Jeff Norris speaks about the recent student-driven renovations done to EMU’s Rec/IM center. Several improvements have been made to the facilities from updating the air conditioning systems to adding more equipment to opening new meeting spaces for visitors to enjoy.


Now in its fifth season, EMU Today TV highlights positive programs, events and initiatives at Eastern, and provides opportunities for viewers to learn more from University deans, faculty, students, administrators and alumni about activities at the University.

Mark S. Lee, host of CBS Radio’s Small Talk with Mark S. Lee, is the host of the special edition of EMU Today TV. Lee is an Eastern Michigan University alumnus, and part time lecturer of Marketing at Eastern. He is an entrepreneur, Crain's Detroit blogger and frequent contributor to various Detroit-area media outlets on business topics.

In addition to viewing on the University's YouTube channel, the program airs on the following days/times through the month on Xfinity On Demand:

  • Tuesdays @ 9:30 am
