Eastern Michigan University is now accepting applications for its newest program – Master's of Science in management of innovation and strategy

YPSILANTI — Eastern Michigan University is thrilled to announce the launch of its newest program, the Master of Science in management of innovation and strategy. Designed to transform professionals into visionary leaders, this program offers a customized curriculum for today’s busy professionals. Applications for the inaugural cohort are now open through Monday, Aug. 5, 2024. EMU’s College of Business offers the program, beginning in the fall of 2024.

The Master of Science in management of innovation and strategy is tailored for professionals and managers aspiring to leadership roles where innovation and strategic thinking are imperative. Participants will acquire essential skills for developing strategic thinking, creativity, innovation, and leadership communication. The program equips students with innovative strategies to recognize and address the greatest disruptors facing organizations today.

"We are proud to offer such a unique program for professionals and managers who seek to become innovative and strategic leaders one day,” said Sanjib Chowdhury, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship. In addition to our highly experienced faculty with terminal degrees, senior managers from the industry will contribute relevant content for this program.”

A distinguishing feature of the program is the ability to learn and interact with an Advisory Board of senior managers representing a range of industries. This board will provide insights into best business practices and ensure the curriculum remains relevant and practical. Barbara Gamm, global learning strategist at Ford Motor Company and co-chair of the Advisory Board, emphasized the program's relevance in today's evolving business landscape. "The pace of change in the business world, pressure to innovate, and stay ahead of the competition warrant the focus, learning, and practice EMU’s Master of Science in Management of Innovation and Strategy offers," said Gamm.

To apply to this program, applicants must meet specific qualifications:

  • Hold a four-year baccalaureate degree in any discipline from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. institution with a minimum GPA of 2.7 or 3.0 in the last half of the undergraduate program.
  • Be currently employed at a professional level.

The program will offer a hybrid meeting format, allowing participants to engage with course material in various settings while maintaining their professional commitments. For more information, visit the program website
