Alex Boylan, CBS's Amazing Race Winner, joins filming for Amazon Prime's “The College Tour” at Eastern Michigan University – Thursday, April 11 

 

Who:  Alex Boylan, contestant and winner of CBS's Amazing Race, EMU President James Smith and students 

What: Amazon Prime’s “The College Tour” is on campus this week, filming an upcoming episode that spotlights 10 students’ college experiences. Students will delve into their personal experiences in college life, including academics, sports, career preparation, and more. 

When: Thursday, April 11. Boylan will be taping various segments and available for interviews from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The taping concludes with EMU student Vheena Villareal highlighting student support services on campus from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Where: “The College Tour” will be filmed in multiple locations around EMU, offering a glimpse of the campus

 

Background: “The College Tour” tells the story of life on college campuses nationwide, providing an opportunity for EMU to be showcased nationally through student achievements, enhancements of campus infrastructure, and overall impressions of EMU’s mark as a university. 

Eastern is the first public college in Michigan to participate in the show designed for prospective students. The show offers viewers an intimate glimpse into a day in the life of an EMU student, providing firsthand experiences that inspire them to become part of the EMU family. Earlier in the semester, a casting call was made for Eastern students interested in being featured on the program; 10 were chosen out of 80 applicants. Each student leads a segment of the episode that showcases an aspect of Eastern.
