Fire reported at Phelps Hall

YPSILANTI --  A fire at Phelps Hall on the Eastern Michigan University campus has led to the evacuation of the building. The fire is out and there are no reports of injuries. It is believed to have started in the first floor lounge area of the building shortly before 1:20 a.m. The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time. EMU Housing staff is assisting with the relocation of students to other residence halls until the building reopens. The Ypsilanti Fire Department and the Eastern Michigan University Police Department remain on the scene. Further updates will be provided as warranted.
