Eastern Michigan University to host Teacher Job Fair at The Convocation Center

 

YPSILANTI- On Friday, April 7 2017, The University Advising and Career Development Center at Eastern Michigan University will host the 2017 Teacher Job Fair. The event will take place from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the EMU Convocation Center, located at 799 N. Hewitt Road in Ypsilanti, MI. Doors open for candidates at 8 a.m. for check-in and registration. In order to attend, candidates must have completed at least one student teaching assignment and be eligible to teach by August 2017.

Currently, 137+ districts are registered to participate. The list includes: Ann Arbor, Novi, Wayne-Westland, Dearborn, Battle Creek, Birmingham, Monroe, etc. A few of the first-time attending employers include: Traverse City (MI), Van Buren (Belleville, MI), Propel Schools (Pittsburgh, PA), LEAD Public Schools (TN), Omaha Public Schools (NE), and the Catholic School Region of Manhattan (NYC, NY). 

Barbara Jones, Senior Corporate Relations Manager in the EMU University Advising and Career Development Center said, “This will be the 31st year EMU has hosted this job fair.” “It is well known to recruiters throughout the country who seek highly trained and qualified teachers. Come and meet hiring officials who may make a major difference in your future!”

There is no cost to attend the fair. Candidates are encouraged to dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resume.
