YPSILANTI – The Eastern Michigan University Aviation Program will once again host a hospitality tent on Saturday, Aug. 25 as part of the 2018 Thunder Over Michigan Air Show. You can join your fellow EMU alumni, friends and supporters for a VIP treatment to one of the country's premier air shows.
Tickets are $80 and include air show admission, VIP parking, lunch and front-row indoor and outdoor air show seating. Proceeds from the EMU Aviation Hospitality Tent will support the Lt. Col. Charles S. Kettles Aviation Scholarship at the University. The fund was established in 2016 in honor of Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, EMU alumnus and retired associate professor Lt. Charles S. Kettles. The scholarship is awarded to students pursuing Aviation Flight Technology or Aviation Management Technology at EMU.
Conducted at Willow Run Airport since 1999, Ypsilanti's annual Thunder Over Michigan is one of the longest running and most pulse-pounding air shows in the country. The show not only features historical aircraft, but also great modern aerobatics. A full schedule of events and list of aircraft can be found on the Thunder Over Michigan website.
