A message to students regarding racist graffiti, from EMU Counseling and Psychological Services:

The racist graffiti that targeted our black community has raised many emotions, including anger, hurt, fear and frustration. As President Smith referenced in his messages, there are support systems on campus for EMU students. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is offering additional appointments to students needing to talk about the racist graffiti and about issues of racism in our larger community.

Students may also access CAPS’ after-hours phone support in the evenings and weekends by calling 734-487-1118. CAPS staff will also be partnering with staff from Diversity and Community Involvement (DCI) to offer a series of drop-in groups for students wanting to come together and talk. More information about the drop-in groups will be made available on My.Emich announcements. The following is contact information for CAPS:
