YPSILANTI – In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and other transformational events of 2020, the Eastern Michigan University Digital Marketing Workshop, titled, “2021, Next Steps,” will be moved online and spread out over the course of a week-long event hosted Monday, Nov. 9 through Friday, Nov. 13. With generous support from Ann Arbor SPARK, this year's special online edition of the Digital Marketing Workshop is being offered free of charge.
2021, Next Steps will feature the opportunity for attendees to learn from experts in the fields of marketing, entrepreneurship, digital infrastructure, PR, and more. As always, the workshop aims to provide thought-provoking and actionable insights.
This year's week-long event will focus on how companies and non-profits have quickly pivoted to digital strategies in 2020 and how they expect to continue in the new year. Many of these organizations have not only stayed afloat but thrived.
Jenn Hayman, Director of Marketing for Human Element, a Magento Certified eCommerce company with a full suite of development & marketing tools, will kick-off the event on Monday with a panel discussion, titled “New Beginnings.”
On Tuesday, Main Street Digital, a company that assists main street businesses with their adoption of technology with easy to use tools and resource, will offer a look into accessible tools and platforms any business can use. Wednesday’s session will examine the opportunities for Digital Lead Gen in industries as diverse as real estate and IT services. The week will close with a look at Digital Culture on Thursday and Digital Advertising on Friday, with panels that promise exciting local and national perspectives.
This year's workshop will also feature speakers from organizations of both national and local prominence such as Google, Facebook, The Henry Ford, Detroit Institute of Arts, The Detroit Zoo, iProspect, Skidmore Studio, Michigan fields, Lease Magnets, Jottful, Fausone-Bohn, Overflow Marketing, and many more.

The workshop is hosted by the EMU Center for Digital Engagement and its director, professor Bud Gibson. Gibson led the establishment of the center at Eastern Michigan in 2015.
