Eastern Michigan University and union representing food service and maintenance workers agree on contract extension

YPSILANTI –  Eastern Michigan University and AFSCME Local 3866, the union representing University food service and maintenance workers, have reached agreement to extend their current agreement through June 30, 2023. The EMU Board of Regents approved the agreement at its regular meeting on June 16, 2022.

The agreement covers approximately 175 employees. Significant provisions include:

  • A 2.5% wage increase for all members on active payroll as of June 30, 2022, to be effective July 1, 2022.
  • The health care benefit program remains unchanged, with employee contribution amounts increasing consistent with prior years.
  • All other provisions of the existing agreement carry forward unchanged.
