Eastern Michigan University’s Digital Marketing Workshop returns to in-person with a Hybrid Marketing theme – Nov. 18

YPSILANTI – Eastern Michigan University’s Center for Digital Engagement will host its 12th annual Digital Marketing Workshop in person on Friday, Nov. 18, at the Eastern Michigan University Student Center, 900 Oakwood St. in Ypsilanti. Interested participants can register through Oct. 31 via Eventbrite using the code EarlyBird2022 for a discounted rate of $20.

“The last time we held a fully in-person conference was 2019,” said Bud Gibson, EMU’s Digital Marketing Workshop conference director. “We’re excited to once again welcome and engage with conference attendees in-person and to introduce our new theme.”

This year’s theme, “Hybrid Marketing,” focuses on the mix of digital and traditional marketing techniques that have emerged since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Experts from national and local brands like Google, Pinterest, Career Now Brands, Jottful, Black Girls CODE, Blue Conduit, Common Citizen, and Nochi Studios will present panels from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The expert brands included in the line-up directly connect to digital marketing, which is the promotion of brands to connect with potential customers using the internet and other forms of digital communication. This includes email, social media, and web-based advertising, as well as text and multimedia messages as a marketing channel.

The panels will focus on lessons learned while emerging from the pandemic, next-gen guerilla marketing, managing hybrid teams and new strategies.

“We hope that attendees will leave with an improved understanding of how digital and traditional marketing techniques have advanced since the disruption of the pandemic,” said Gibson. “The line-up of panelists are experts in educating audiences, and I am excited that Eastern’s community will have access to this opportunity.”
